International Workshop
Human Supervision and Control in Engineering and Music21. - 24. September 2001 Kassel, Germany The workshop will be organised in one stream of lectures, discussion sessions, and interactive orchestra rehearsals without parallel events. Scientists from different fields of the two broad domains of engineering and music will explore their common theoretical and practical foundations in human supervision and control. The terms music and engineering are used here for comprising two domains of experience and knowledge, namely (A) several fields of musicology, computer music, composition, and music performance as well as (B) several fields of engineering, computer science, and psychology. Learning from each other and creating new innovative research perspectives will be major objectives of this workshop. Well-known experts of high international reputations in their respective
fields will be invited. Also, rising young talents in music and engineering
research will actively participate and exchange their views with the more
experienced colleagues.
