SunoのModelsとPromptsの比較実験(3)

概要

この実験は、4月に行った SunoのModelsとPromptsの比較実験 と、6月に行った SunoのModelsとPromptsの比較実験(2) と、7月に行った SunoのPromptsのLoop実験 に関連して行ったものです。 まず、オリジナルモデル「nagasm5 (ノイズ系)」を削除して新しいモデル「nagasm9(実験的)」を作り、「黒人霊歌+コサックダンス」という共通のシンプルなpromptに対して、「v5.5 Pro」・「nagasm3 (デスメタル臭)」・「nagasm6 (chaos Piano)」・「nagasm9(実験的)」の4種類のモデルがどんな曲を生成するか、を試しました。 次に「黒人霊歌+コサックダンス」に「アバンギャルド現代音楽フリージャズ」・「ゴスペル」・「スロー/グルーブ/エモーション」を加えてコテコテに増補したpromptに対して、同様に4種類のモデルがどんな曲を生成するか、を試した報告です。

新モデル「nagasm9(実験的)」の作成

過去に作ったMaxパッチを活用して、これまでsunoで作ったオリジナルモデル(同時に保有できるのは最大3個)のうち、パッとしない「nagasm5(ノイズ系)」の代わりを作ろう、と企画。 「nagasm3(デスメタル臭)」と「nagasm6(Chaos Piano)」は気に入っているので、今回のが上手くいったら3の倍数ということで「nagasm9」と命名する予定。

以前に作ったパッチをちょっと上のように改訂して、とりあえず「ノイズ」となる noise01.mp3 というのを作ってみたが、この路線は「nagasm5」を作った時と同様な感じで、一定のサウンドに知覚されてしまう点が、どうもイマイチ。

そこで上のような、「buffer~の波形のLOOP読み出しポイントをランダムに変更する」というパッチを発掘。 これは「波形メモリの読み出しstartポイントとendポイントをランダムに変更する」というもので、ここに、素材集その他からの音源を入れて、もっとめちゃくちゃにする・・・という算段。 素材集mp3は膨大なのでけっこう時間がかかったが、以下のようなものが出来た。 タイトルは「素材のサウンド」。

最後の3つは、たまたま手元に木村まりさん(友人・ジュリアード音楽院教授)のCDが何枚かあったので、ある曲(数分間)の冒頭28秒ほどを素材として用いて作った、計3パターンの1分間サウンド。 素材としてサブハーモニック演奏の音も、ビブラートの効き方も、全て素晴らしいが、これだけ切り出して変形させればまぁ、まりさんも使用を許してくれるだろう。 (木村まりさんについては EXPO2025プロジェクトに参加して を参照されたい)

これでオリジナルモデル作成のためのサウンドファイルが10個になったので、上のようにsunoに移動。 オリジナルモデル(これを作ると100クレジット消費する)は3個までなので、まず「nagasm5」をdeleteした。 そして上のボタンを押して、久しぶりのオリジナルモデル作りmodeに進んだ。

モデルの名前「nagasm9」を入れると、参考サウンドをアップロードする画面になったが、「Bulk Upload」というのがあったので、10曲まとめてザッと指定できた。 最後の1曲のアップロードの時に時間がかかったが、全体としてはアッサリしたものだった。

上のようにアップロード曲の10個のアイコンが出現すると、「Crete Custon Model」がクリック出来るようになって、いよいよスタートである。 いざ始まってみると、次の画面の時間が相当に長かった。 以下のように、ちゃんとモデルを作ってくれている・・・という幸せな時間を過ごした。

ベタな「hybrid of Negro spiritual in America and Cossack dance in Russia」というpromptに対して、v5.5Proで最初に出てきた2曲「Red Clay Steppe」(2min55sec, 2min51sec)はちょっとイマイチだった。 どうもコサックダンスが強く出ていて、元々異質なものの、期待したNegro spiritualのテイストは弱かった。 このままでいいか不安になりつつ、オリジナルモデルに進んだ。

ここで出来た曲名「River and Steppe」はその後、何度となく登場することになった。 ここではその「1/2」(2min13sec, 1min42sec)であるが、あの「デスメタ叫び」、合いの手の「ホイホイ」とか、瞬間的に重低音ギターが出たりして、ちゃんとオリジナルモデルの反映となっていた。 相変わらずNegro spiritualのテイストは弱かった。

オリジナルモデル「nagasm6(Chaos風味)」でも、同じ曲名「River and Steppe」となったので、「3/4」(1min37sec, 1min42sec)とした。 ちょっと短めになったが、ちゃんとオリジナルのChaos Pianoが登場してくれた。 promptを「薄め」にすることで、逆にオリジナルのテイストが出易くなるようだ。 2曲目ではバイオリンやアコーディオンのサウンドでもカオスフレーズが出てくれたのには驚いた。

いよいよ新しいオリジナルモデル「nagasm9(実験的)」である。 タイトルは同じ曲名「River and Steppe」となったので、「5/6」(2min56sec, 2min21sec)とした。 これまでと違って、打撃音とか合いの手の「声」っぽいのが入っていて、オリジナルの効果は見出せた。 テンポが早いのでまりさんのバイオリンのテイストは限定的だったが、スローテンポも見てみたくなった。
ここで終わっても良かったのだが、なんだか共通prompt「hybrid of Negro spiritual in America and Cossack dance in Russia」がイマイチだったので、コテコテに増量することもやってみた。

「slow groove emotion」が結果的には強烈に効いて、全く違う世界(僕は全然嫌いじゃない、というより大好き系)になった。 タイトルは同じ曲名「River and Steppe」となったので、「7/8」(2min43sec, 2min49sec)とした。

曲名「Steppe Hymn」(2min39sec, 3min03sec)はともかく、驚くべき事にsunoの生成promptが「free jazz, slow, experimental, avant-garde, gospel」と超シンプルなものになっていた。 普段の振る舞いからすると、ちょっとこの時に何か異常があったと思うのだが、詳細は常に不明。 ちょっとご機嫌を損ねたのか・・・と心配したのだが、ちゃんと途中でデスメタの重低音テイストや「声」が出現してくれた。

ここにきてちょっと予想と外れた。 曲名「Dust and River」(3min05sec, 2min43sec)で、ますますスローでコーラスが生きた良い音楽となったのだが、期待したChaosフレーズは1曲目ではほぼ登場せず、2曲目はラストでちょっとだけ?、という感じとなった。 ただし音楽としては素晴らしい。

ちょっとだけ違ったタイトル「River and Step」(2min56sec, 2min59sec)である。 テンポはさらに遅くなり、そして仕込んだモデルのテイストがあちこちに散見(蚊が飛んだり)していたような気もする。 まりさんのバイオリンの演奏テイストが管楽器などに乗り移っていた感じもある。 また別の題材で確認する必要があるとしても、今回のモデルはちょっとそのまま置いて、様子を見ることにした。
